ABSTRACT:
Quantum dots (QDs) are semiconductor material that have gained great interest due to their unique characteristics like optical properties. QDS are a revolutionary new technology that is being used to treat a variety of diseases. The excretion of QD indicates conversion in natural imaging along with photography have established incredible suitability in bioimaging, new drug development, targeted gene deliverance, biosensing, photodynamic treatment as well as diagnosis. Cancer is a major threat to public health in 21st century because it is one of the leading causes of death. With the optical and chemical advantages of QD, QD -based nanotechnology is helpful in constructing a biomedical imaging platform for cancer behavior study. Also detecting viral infections has become challenging in medical research due to their high infectivity and mutation. Detection viruses based on quantum dots biomarkers is inexpensive and has great potential. Nanotechnology is an emerging field that may have potentials as make in the detection treatment and prevention of cancer. Quantum dots used to detect primary tumor. Also be take part in the treatment of breast cancer in women in which diagnosis of breast cancer, detection of correlation between HER2 gene amplification and protein expression, immunofluorescence imaging of HER2 and ER, triple negative breast cancer therapy using QDs based micelle conjugation. The blood brain barrier (BBB) protects the blood tissue. Only certain small molecule like water and gases can BBB, whereas large molecule entre via receptors, but many drugs are incapable of passing the barrier.
